Główny obszar działalności naukowej stanowi synteza organiczna, a w szczególności wprowadzanie do syntezy nowych katalitycznych reakcji i odczynników. Prowadzone aktualnie badania, w tym także tematy prac doktorskich, dotyczą syntezy i wykorzystania chiralnych ligandów jako katalizatorów w enancjoselektywnych reakcjach z udziałem jonów metali przejściowych, a także syntezy pochodnych alkaloidów i ich zastosowania jako organokatalizatorów.
